Dining tables
Single-slab and joined-plank tops cut from floor beams and bridge decking, usually 180 to 300 cm long with tops 4 to 8 cm thick. Bases in matching reclaimed stock or blackened steel. Nail holes, checks and old bolt marks are stabilised with resin and left visible unless you specify a cleaner grade.
Consoles and entry pieces
Narrow consoles, 120 to 180 cm long and 35 to 45 cm deep, made from door lintels, window frames and shorter salvaged sections that cannot yield a full table top. They pack tight in a container, which gives retailers a strong margin-to-freight ratio.
Cabinets and sideboards
Case pieces with reclaimed faces, tops and doors over kiln-dried teak framing for stability, or full-reclaimed construction on request. Sliding-door sideboards, glass-front display cabinets and low media consoles are all standard formats in Jepara.

Where the Timber Comes From, and Why It Matters
Two salvage streams dominate. The first is the joglo house. A traditional Javanese joglo carries its roof on heavy teak posts and tiered beams, and when families rebuild in brick and concrete, salvage dealers buy the old frames. This stream yields thick, straight-grained sections suited to table tops and cabinet faces. The second stream is infrastructure: older rural bridges, pier decking and similar structures in Java used teak for its load-bearing strength and rot resistance. That timber is coarser, marked by bolt holes and deep weathering, and suits statement tables where the history should stay visible.

Four factors move the number more than anything else: top thickness, single-slab versus joined construction, the finish system (natural oil costs less than layered lacquer) and how much original surface you want preserved, since heavy character demands more hand-sorting. Sea freight sits outside these ranges and moves with the season, so we quote current rates at enquiry instead of publishing a figure that will be stale within a month.
On volume: a 20 ft container carries roughly 8 to 10 large dining tables with benches, or a mixed load of 40 to 60 case and occasional pieces. We handle full 20 ft and 40 ft containers, and smaller LCL (shared-container) shipments for trial orders. A single piece is rarely economical to ship on its own; if you want one table, ask anyway and we will show you honestly what freight does to the total.
Standard terms in this trade run 50 per cent deposit to start production and the balance against shipping documents, with production taking 8 to 14 weeks depending on order size and how much reclaimed stock must be sourced. Your quotation confirms exact terms and dates.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know the wood is genuinely reclaimed and not new teak distressed to look old?
Ask for timber photos before milling; we provide them as standard. Genuine salvaged stock shows nail and bolt holes passing through the board, mineral staining around old fixings, and weathering gradients that follow the original structure. Faked distressing sits on the surface. Our curation step exists to filter this out before you commit money.
What is SVLK and why does it matter to my import?
SVLK (Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu) is Indonesia’s national timber-legality assurance system. Wood-product exports require the associated legality documents, and importers in the EU, UK and other regulated markets rely on them for due diligence under their own timber rules. We arrange this paperwork before quotation, so a legality problem cannot surface after you have paid.
Can I mix reclaimed and new plantation teak in one container?
Yes, and most buyers do. Reclaimed pieces carry the story and the margin; plantation lines fill the cubic metres at lower cost. You get one curation process, one container and one set of export documents.
Will reclaimed teak survive outdoors?
Old-growth teak carries high natural oil content and dense grain, which is why it lasted decades in bridges. For outdoor use, specify full-reclaimed construction without secondary framing, stainless hardware and an exterior oil finish. Left uncoated outside, it silvers to grey like any teak.
What are the typical lead times?
Plan on 8 to 14 weeks from deposit to container loading for most orders, plus sea transit of roughly 3 to 6 weeks depending on your port. Sourcing unusual slab dimensions can add time, and we flag that in the quotation rather than discover it mid-production.
